Test Session #2

Rougemont, NC - On 26 March 2022, Daniel Dean Jr. and Tech Racing headed out to Orange County Speedway to shake down a new car. Although Tech Racing co-owner Thomas Chappell was taking care of business that day at Hickory Motor Speedway, fellow co-owner Mike Chambers led the team consisting of Tommy, Joe, Thomas’s dad Jerry, and Dean’s dad Danny Dean Sr.

Being an open test day for all classes, it was paramount that they were present to see not only how Dean would stack up against other drivers in his class, but to also allow Mike and Thomas a chance to get the new car adjusted to Dean’s driving style. While not everyone that will be competing in the same class was present, the time was well spent and gave everyone present a snapshot of the capability of the team. Dean quickly remembered the preferred driving line, and with some coaching from Chambers, they were quickly showing to the other teams present that they would be a force to be reckoned with in the fast-approaching season.

Aaron Young of AaronxYoung Photography accompanied the team, documenting key moments of coaching, talk about the car handling, and showing the inner workings of the team in the infield. To compound to this, the 2022 livery made it’s feature debut! Lee Ball of Downforce Graphics Co. discussed the basics of the color scheme with Dean, but was given near-full artistic freedom to design a truly unique car. The Grit and Grace Real Estate #57 Chevy SS is unmistakable on track now, and Young captured how much the racecar pops off the pavement through his expert photography.

2022 is shaping up to be a successful season for the team. 23 April 2022 will be here before you know it, and you can best believe the Tech Racing #57 entry will be there to tear some rubber up.
